2 Do we have enough state reports? MSDS General Collections – Fall, Spring, EOY TSDL – Mid-Year, EOY SRM – Section 25, Early Roster Early Childhood UIC assignment and resolution – EEM Days and Hours Report – GAD – CTEIS – Office of Civil Rights Compliance Report

3 The Importance of the UIC Data gathering begins with UIC Graduation/Drop Out info is based on UIC BAA uses UIC for MEAP testing Must “link” UIC’s if student has more than one

5 MSDS MSDS has three “general collections” Fall, Spring and End of Year BAA uses the MSDS information for MEAP testing – rosters, etc. Student UIC is the connector for the MSDS and BAA data Data quality is important. MSDS will error out with certain errors.

7 Section 25 New law - funding follows student Between Oct. 3 – Feb. 11 districts are allowed to request foundation allowance for students who move into their district AND were claimed elsewhere in Michigan for the fall count Documentation must be sent to your auditor SRM submission must be done for each student and must be certified

8 When you are selecting the MSDS – SRM extract, make sure you pick the correct one.

9 TSDL Teacher Student Data Link Mid-year and summer submission Every student, every teacher, every class, every grade Teacher PIC must be entered for every teacher Every course must have a SCED entered

10 Mid-Year TSDL Submission This submission is required to report course data for all migrant-eligible students Other students are optional for mid-year only However, this is a great time to submit 1 st semester or trimester course data and grades Submission must be certified by Feb. 26, 2014

11 Days and Hours Report Report located on EEM Electronic version of the former paper report Due in July but can be updated through out the year Reports each building and/or district including “forgiven” days

12 Percentage Attendance Report Required to give this to the auditor’s to prove that each day of school was above 75% Can be ran at any time of the year to double check attendance for any day Located in MiStar under State Reporting-RESA state reports

13 CTEIS Enter courses into CT Link Editor (located in Scheduling) System, Utilities, Exec SP for necessary reports If these Stored Procedures are not step up for your MiStar contact OS help desk If you are a Wayne County MiStar user, please contact Wayne RESA

14 Discipline Discipline is a required component of the MSDS collections Data must be entered correctly into MiStar for the data to be extracted properly If data is not completely entered, errors will appear on the MSDS Validation Detail report

15 Data Quality Garbage in, garbage out – Be careful! LEP students who have English/English listed for home and primary language will error out. If student is foreign born and receives LEP services, the Country of Birth and Year of Entry into US must be entered. SCED codes needed for every course Teacher PIC needed for every course – if course has same PIC listed multiple times, it will error out
