Collaborated with teachers and administrators on identification of under-represented populations in the gifted program. Collaborated with general education teachers to increase rigor and plan for differentiation in core subject areas.2004-2006

7 Lead Teacher Martinsville Middle School 2006-2007 Worked with staff on curriculum alignment in the areas of math and history to assist in getting Martinsville Middle School fully accredited and out of Academic Warning. Led job-embedded professional development for all subjects, in particular math and history, to incorporate hands-on learning and problem-solving in instruction. Collaborated with administrators and staff to develop professional learning communities. Developed benchmark tests for math and history to assist in data-driven instruction. Led job-embedded professional development for implementing the use of Reports Online System, data analysis with teachers, and data-driven instruction. Collaborated with administrators and staff to plan and implement intervention programs for students. Led teachers in curriculum development and planning for alignment and student engagement.

8 Instructional Coordinator Martinsville Middle School 2007-2009 Collaborated with administrators and staff to plan and implement open enrollment for advanced programs to eliminate barriers to achievement for students in all subgroups. Collaborated with teachers and administrators to plan and successfully implement advanced math program to increase the number of minority students enrolling in advanced math classes and earning advanced diplomas. Led curriculum and assessment professional development sessions for compacting math to prevent learning gaps and prepare students to move in to higher level math. Led teachers in development and began implementation of weekly common assessments. Led teachers in PLC study and implementation of formative assessments, including establishing a professional learning community BLOG.

10 Where I Am Most Proud Increase in Percentage of Students Passing

11 Important to Note While continuing to increase our school pass rate in math, the middle school increased the number of students taking Algebra I from 58 in 2006 to 248 students in spring 2009, with an 86% pass rate on the End of Course Algebra I SOL test in spring 2009. Also, for the first time Martinsville Middle School had 18 students take Geometry I with a 100% pass rate on the End of Course Geometry SOL test. From 2006-2008 Martinsville Middle School had three different principals.
