5 5 Principles to Identify Community Assets and Resources: Investigation Mapping Assets as Resources Resources as Assets Relationships

6 Asset Mapping (Bonner and ABCD curriculums) Citizens: Recognized as an individual; Landowners; Tenants; Employees; Business owners; Volunteers Economy: Things that are shared, traded, purchased, exchanged. Land: Infrastructure; Buildings; Streets; Utilities Institutions: For Profit – Mom & Pop, stores, restaurants; Not for profit – United Way, Goodwill, Family Connection, etc.; Government – City Hall, Library, DFCS Associations: Neighborhood Groups; Block Clubs; Civic Clubs; Cultural Groups; Athletic Groups; Faith- Based Organizations; Homeowners and Property Owners
