(BRIEFLY evaluate using the 6 Steps) (Half the room) Identify one Community Change Initiative to “dissect” that experienced a major Set-Back Who were the Champions/Leaders? What Steps Were Taken? (BRIEFLY evaluate using 6 Steps) and why it was not successful

Involve the Community 4 Build Consensus 3 Perform the Research Monitor Results 5 Develop an Action Agenda Define the Problem Six Business Organizations came together: “What can we do to “kickstart” our economy?” “What were the Barriers?” “How can we be creative?”

16 Civic Innovation Lessons Learned: Ask: How Will This Be Different? All 3 Sectors must be included early Don’t skip over/rush any of the steps (especially 1 and 3) Partnerships are never easy; always better! Forget about “who gets credit” Relationships matter! The process remains the same, regardless of the civic innovation you’re seeking
