Effective academic advisement helps the student identify, clarify and plan for educational and career goals, with ongoing communication between advisor and student on the progress made toward those goals. Academic advising encompasses planning for internships and employment opportunities within the discipline and providing guidance on transfer possibilities. Effective advisement requires referrals to the wide array of academic support, personal counseling, financial aid and administrative resources to help the student achieve success throughout their experiences at the College.”
