Form of notation for writing repeated multiplication using exponents
Exponential Form Repeated Multiplication
Negative Exponent = less than 1 (think decimal) Positive Exponent = 10 or greater
Square root: one of two equal factors of a number Cube root: one of three equal factors of a number
An Expression involving radicals is in simplest form when: 1. All possible factors have been removed from the radical 2. All fractions have radical free denominator 3. Index of the radical is reduced
