7 Clinical Training at CPS Five clinical faculty each hold group supervision Each group contains all levels of students Students tend to switch groups from year to year (but stay within a group all year) Some groups specialize (e.g., ADHD and Dr. Gerdes; autism clinic and Dr. Van Hecke)

8 Supervision Training PSYC8360 Consultation and Supervision Strategies 3 credit course meets all year, every week (75 minutes) Text (Falender and Shafranske), other readings

9 Supervision Training 4Y students are assigned to be peer supervisor to both a 2Y and a 3Y student Supervisees are in the same group supervision as the student supervisor 2Y student is learning/doing assessments at CPS 3Y student is learning/doing therapy at CPS Faculty supervisor of group maintains responsibility for the care of the CPS patients If an issue comes up related to patient care, student supervisor is to address it with the CPS supervisor Supervision class is to learn supervision (not supervise cases)

10 Supervision Training Task #1: Develop and implement a supervision contract Signed by peer supervisor, peer supervisee, faculty supervisor*, and course instructor (me)
