2.  Students have finished their creative writing projects.  I encourage parents to ensure that their child is reading. Too often students are forgetting to read on a daily basis.  Students have been working on an extensive novel study of a Bridge to Terabithia  They will be creating a final cereal box book report to take home  Signing the agenda daily will help ensure parent-teacher communication

3. Mathematics  Students should continue ask more questions and try to complete past exercises at home or search for grade 5 math concepts on iXl or Khan Academy. Grade 5 will be fast approaching and some students who are struggling with math need to practice more.  We should continue to strive to have full participation in the sample test provided on the class website. Too often similar questions on the tests are incorrect.  I encourage parents to check agendas daily, and to sign the agenda daily. It is a tool for me and you to communicate.

4. April Art This month we focused exclusively on Earth Day! Students have been creating Earth Day superheroes who wish to save the world from pollution!

5.  We had a field trip to the Vancouver Aquarium please see appendix for the attached pictures.

6.  Students will now begin to focus on early European exploration.  Students have started working on an explorer project
