2. Her History…. Mokarrameh was born in the village of Darikandeh near Babol, Mazandaran Province, north of Iran.BabolMazandaran Province She accidentally began painting at the age of 63 when she came across some artist's paint her son had left at her home.

3. despite her great talent, she never received any formal training in painting. She continued her painting using bright, original colors inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of her neighborhood, and within a few years her works were noticed by painters in Iran and overseas.

4. She painted her house to match her vivid personality.. Unable to read and write, she began painting without any formal training. She even painted on the walls, doors and windows of her residence. Her painting of Imam Reza has found its way into the houses of many people of Darikandeh village. A large painting of Imam Reza's Shrine, which is about 150x100 cm (60x40 in), is kept in a local Husseinieh, where it is respected and revered by the local people

Some accomplishments… Winner of International Talents Prizes She held her first exhibition at the Seyhun Gallery in 1995 She participated in ten other exhibitions and was awarded the jury prize at the Roshd Film Festival and another award at the Rural Artistic-Literary Festival In 2001, she was awarded an honorary certificate at the Conference of the Foundation of Iranian Women's Studies in Stockholm and was named the year's exemplary woman She was named the "Female Painter of 2001" by the Swedish National Museum Iranian filmmaker Ebrahim Mokhtari has made a documentary film about the life and works of the artist entitled "Mokarrameh; Her Memories and Dreams”

8. Mokarrameh Ghanbari A self-confessed passion since childhood for creative patterns and designs, resulted in her experimenting with mud and clay. Her interest then extended to bridal make- up for women from nearby villages. Most fascinating of all, is that she began painting on paper, as she did until her death..
