Accepted COUNTER reports – Release 3: Journal Report 1 – fulltext requests Database Report 1 – searches and sessions Database Report 2 - turnaways

Brain Research – Integration into EBSCONET Subscription Management

ERM Essentials & Usage Consolidation don’t communicate

Opening page of UC

Configuring JSTOR

Additional fields if harvest using SUSHI:

Steps for loading usage data: 1) Upload file to the system (manually or via SUSHI load)

Steps for loading usage data: 2) System checks validity of file 3) System matches titles to KB

Why title match? so resources across different vendors can be accurately consolidated across different platforms matching ensures the usage statistics for these are applied to 1 journal and NOT 3 separate ones

Steps for loading usage data: 4) Review load and work through exceptions

Steps for loading usage data: 5)Mark review as complete – usage files become available through reporting

Reporting options

Title details sorted by publisher, title Jan 2011 limit = > 100 requests

Title details sorted by usage 2011 limit = most 100 used titles

Title usage summarized by publisher November 2011, sorted by usage

GSU’s Usage Consolidation Timeline (projected!)

Road blocks and other challenges…. It certainly isn’t plug ‘n play:  Platform configuration Add to KB first?  Matching titles Research title history & our collection content  Manipulating COUNTER reports Image attribution: Road block by annamatic3000, http://www.flickr.com/photos/annamatic3000/2140363882/

Road blocks and other challenges….  Waiting on fixes  Titles added to KB  Diacritics  Matching glitches: -- some titles won’t match; -- some matches aren’t retained  Cost per use  Post load data discoveries Image attribution: Wash out by Adam Franco, http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamfranco/2804475369/

Administration in Social Work – 2011 usage in EBSCONET – estimated usage with incomplete COUNTER report load

Enhancements we would like to see:  Ability to set viewing preferences for results lists  Full list of available platforms in the configure section  Ability to search by ISSN when title matching  Ability to reverse an ignore decision, or modify a match  Integration with ERM Essentials  A User Community

Some of our questions:  COUNTER Release 4  Excel vs. xml vs. cvs  Zero usage titles Image attribution: The thinker, by brainbrarian, http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianbrarian/201882022/
