Accomplishments (Fall 2013) 1.Reviewed journal articles related to public engagement to develop background knowledge 2.Developed and administered Public Engagement Survey within the College 3.Organized and facilitated town hall meeting that showcased current engagement successes 4.Researched comparable institutions’ engagement efforts 5.Identified opportunities to partner with alumni on future engagement initiatives 2

Priority 4: Better Futures for Iowans Plans (Spring 2014) 1.Develop and present recommendations to Strategic Plan Implementation Steering Committee related to engagement support based on survey results, conversations with stakeholders, and results of benchmarking effort 2.Develop recommendations on how the College might leverage existing relationships to increase the impact of our current engagement efforts (i.e. Dept. of Education, AEA, ACT/Pearson, VA Hospital, Iowa School districts and businesses) 3.Develop website to showcase Nov. 8 th town hall meeting, current engagement success, video from Associate Provost for Outreach and Engagement Linda Snetselaar, and list of resources. 3
