Books of Law - God's rules, how they were broken, and the story of their temporary solution 2. Books of History - The Story of the nation of Israel 4. Books of Poetry - Praise to God and tips for Godly living 5. The Major Prophets - God's words to Israel and Judah 6. The Minor Prophets - God's words to Israel and Judah

God forshadows a redeemer- Ruth's sacrifice leads her to her redeemer Boaz Ruth became David's great-grandmother I Samuel Israel Chooses a King Samuel rises up as the last judge of Israel- He followed God The people demand a king (what God does not want) and God tells Samuel to annoint Saul Saul starts out well, but eventually diobeys God. God becomes angry with Saul and has Samuel annoint David as the next king, ending Saul's line.
