4 平等機會委員會 EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION 4 Respondents Target Respondents: Women living in Hong Kong aged 15 – 64 Successful interviews: 1,528 (Response rate: 41.1%)

5 平等機會委員會 EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION 5 Respondents  Homemakers: 38%  Live in public housing estate: 37%  Average monthly personal income less than HK$8,000: 33%* (* Percentage of working persons)

8 平等機會委員會 EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION 8 Awareness of extension of CEDAW to Hong Kong Among those aware of CEDAW (aided and unaided), 58% unsure or don’t know CEDAW has been extended to Hong Kong.

10 平等機會委員會 EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION 10 Consultation on implementing CEDAW  58% very or quite wish the government consults them on how to implement CEDAW  Only 4% do not wish to be consulted at all

11 平等機會委員會 EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION 11 Government policies or measures to raise women’s status 71% either don’t know or consider the government had no policies or measures to raise women’s status in the past six years.
