3   Why do people use this form of communication rather than writing complete words and sentences?  What are the advantages of using this type of communication?

4   More than 1000 years after the pyramids were built, Egypt reached its height of power. The sophisticated, civilized society that we call the New Kingdom was led by some remarkable kings. Between them, they liberated their country, conquered their neighbors, and built an empire that stretched from Syria to Sudan. The empire brought Egypt unimaginable wealth and power. They left a legacy that is still with us 3000 years later.

17   Was your group able to build a pyramid successfully from the materials provided?  What challenges did your group face when constructing the pyramid?  What strategies did your group use to build the pyramid?  If you could have had two additional items to use for creating your pyramid, what would they have been and how would they have helped you?
