Check the GeorgiaStandards.org website for the latest resources. 2. Increase the volume of reading for students – good mix of literary and informational. 3. Include at least 50% informational texts in your instruction. 4. Learn how to ask / write good questions that are text dependent, are worthwhile for class time, and require the student to “dig deep” for the answers. 5. Use close reading appropriately.
