3 He used various forms of logical argument Reductio ad absurdum Reductio ad absurdum (Latin: "reduction to the absurd") is a form of argument in which a proposition is disproven by following its implications logically to an absurd consequence.argument in which a proposition is disproven by following its implications logically to an absurd consequence. Usually the dilemma is presented to an antagonist as a choice between two solutions to a problem, both of which are conclusive, but neither of which is acceptable. Example: is John’s Baptism from Heaven or from Men? (Matthew 21:23-27)

For example, if it has been established that a person is deceased, then one can, with equal or greater certainty, argue that the person is not breathing. Example: God answering prayer (Matt. 7:7- 12)
