9 ELO’s The critical skills, knowledge, and dispositions each student must acquire as a result of each course, grade level and unit of instruction.

10 Collective Inquiry The process of building shared knowledge by clarifying the questions that a team will explore around best practice, data analysis, and practices and conditions of the current school reality.

11 ELO’s Activity Consider your school’s departments and teams. List departments and give examples/evidence of ELO’s. What resources have you used? What do you need to complete this work? Complete reflection 1 on page 4.

15 Curriculum Guaranteed and viable curriculum gives each student access to the same essential learning taught within the instructional time allowed regardless of who is the teacher. Common pacing means that teacher agree to a specified amount of instructional time to learning standards.

17 CFA’s Common Formative Assessments (CFA’s) – assessments create collaboratively by a team of teachers responsible for the same grade level and/or deppartment course. The assessment is administered to all students in the grade or course.

18 CFA’s Common Formative Assessments (CFA’s) – used frequently throughout the year. CFA’s identify: Students who need additional time and support Teaching strategies most effective General areas of difficulty for students Improvement goals for individual teachers and students.

19 CFA Activity Review the evidence – (15 minutes) Log into Eclipse Find an area you are going to teachAre standards identified? Are ELO’s identified? What might a CFA look like for this unit?

21 Reflection on CFAs Evaluate the use of CFA’s in your school using the rubric provided. Work silently and independently first. Share thoughts.

22 SUMMARY REFLECTION Fill out the CFA section of the summary reflection sheet.

23 RTI Systematic approach to prevention, intervention and enrichment. A school-wide plan that includes collecting and studying student data around specific standards and skills. The plan includes determining areas where students need specific skill growth and creating or finding research-based approaches and interventions to meet those needs.

24 RTI Discussion – Using the prompts on page 9.

25 RTI Activity Review and discuss your school’s RTI pyramid. Use the questions provided to discuss the processes behind the pyramid.
