8 RULES  Maximum of 16 hours (elapsed time- E.T.)  Time period which starts the instant you are on duty after having taken a minimum of 8 hours off-duty  Includes all time  8 consecutive hours off-duty resets the work shift  Sleeper berth periods are not counted in the 16 hour E.T. when they qualify for the sleeper berth rest provision

13 48 hour averaging  48 hour averaging allows a driver to reduce the daily off-duty requirement of 10 hours by up to 2 hours provided the 2 hours is not part of the mandatory 8 consecutive hours  This deferred time is added to the 8 consecutive hours on the second day  This provision may be used every 2 nd day if a driver chooses

15  All Interlink drivers operate on the 70 hour/7 day cycle.  When you reach the end of your cycle, you must book off for 36 consecutive hours to complete your “reset” before you can start your new cycle.  You CAN reset and begin a new cycle at any time by simply booking off for 36 consecutive hours.

16 RULES For Split Periods  Single drivers using a sleeper berth must use two separate periods totaling 10 hours off- duty, provided neither period is less than 2 hours  Team drivers using a sleeper berth must use two separate periods totaling 8 hours off- duty, provided neither is less than 4 hours (10 hours off must still be taken in a day)
