In this WebQuest, you will search for examples of how animals have adapted successfully to survive. You will explore websites to find information on 5 different animals and their adaptations. Click on a picture to begin!

4 Your Exploration Task: Define the terms physical adaptation & behavioral adaptation. Research at least 5 animals and their adaptations. Create a poster, Microsoft Word document, or Power Point slide show on: –One of the animals and its adaptations… OR –Create your own imaginary creature with its own adaptations to its environments! 5 What are the steps I need to do? 1.Use the website links to research your animals. 2.Take notes on each animal. 1.Animal name 2.Where it lives 3.What its adaptations are 4.Why it needs those adaptations to survive 5. Which website you used to find your information (the name of the website link) 3.Find and write a definition for physical adaptation & behavioral adaptation. 4.Create a poster, Microsoft Word document, or PowerPoint slide show on:  One animal using your notes… (Be sure to include your definitions!) OR  Create your own imaginary animal and show its adaptations to survive in its environment. It is research based, and incorporates note-taking skills, defining key terms, source documentation, summarizing of ideas, and oral presentation with the possibility for artistic expression in the benchmark product. The alternate final product also offers extension work. There is flexibility of choice in these products, allowing students the opportunity to utilize technology as well.
