This is the home page for the online unit Determining Death Benefits. There are three main areas to each online unit.

This is the Personal Profile home page. The “How do I learn?” option is a tool that helps a learner to assess their preferred learning style:

The Learning Centre area is where the activities for this unit are held and it is where a learner will spend most of their time. Take a look:

This is the Learning Centre home page and it explains exactly what the unit covers and any features a learner will encounter as they work through the online programme: Throughout the programme a “monster tip” will help learners out with good advice.

The Learning Centre has three topics within it. You can see them in the left-hand navigation panel. The three topics. Take a look at Final salary schemes:

This is the topic home page for Final salary schemes. There are four different types of activities within each topic and each type of activity will help a learner with a certain preferred learning style to start by doing something that they will find interesting. The Fact finding activities will help engage an “observer” or “thinker”. The Taking action activities will help engage an “experimenter”. The Number crunching activities will help engage a “doer”. The Quiz activities act as a self- assessment tool for learners.

The Resource Centre area acts as a supporting library for the Learning Centre and the programme will link from one to the other throughout the unit. Take a look:

This is the Resource Centre home page where further information and helpful documents and weblinks are stored.

This is the home page for the online unit Determining Leavers Benefits. The buttons at the bottom of the left-hand navigation panel show other options available to learners as they work through the online unit. Take a look at the “My progress” option.

The My Progress area shows a learner where they have and have not been within the programme. Take a look at the “Site map” option.

The Site map is clickable to allow learners to move to any area they want to within the programme.
