2 Ephesians: Which is it? 1. Paul is giving some cool theology, but the theology is there to support his real purpose, which is to admonish them in Christian living. Or 2. Paul is giving a deep treatise on the theology of Christ, and throws in a few useful applications at the end to illustrate what he just taught.

7 Jesus Fulfilled the Law and the Prophets In that… 1. He met all the requirements. Leviticus 18:5 2. Through his death he met the penalty for all of us who did not fullfill all the requirements of the Law. 3. His life fulfilled all the Messianic expectations—the foreshadows and prefigures in the laws, the sacrifices, the festivals. 4. He expanded the Law of Moses to what God expected it to be all along.

10 Matt 2:23 (Isaiah 11:1-2, Jeremiah 23:5) He will be called a Nazarene. Nazer = shoot, branch Isaiah 11:1-2, Jeremiah 23:5 Messiah is the branch of Jesse and of David. Meaning: Jesus will be the son or royalty and will himself be a king. Q: Is Jesus your king?
