2  Czech republic is a country in central Europe, it is bordered by Germany to the northwest and west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the northeast. 

3 The territory is mountainous, but also flat and hilly- The most important mountains are: the Carpathian, the Ore, the Sudetes and the Sumava, in the southwest. The most important rivers are: Elbe, Vltava and Morava. The climate is temperate continental.

4  There are just about 10.000.000 people, the population density is 133 people per km 2.  The populations is divided in two ethnics groups, which represent the majority of the populations: Bohemians and Moravians.  The 34,2% of the population has no religion, the 10,3% are Catholics and the 0,8% are Protestants. In a 2011 census, 45.2% of the population did not answer the question about religion.  The most used language is Czech (also called Bohemian).

5 The most important cities are: Prague - because is the capital - and Brno, because is a very important industrial center.

6 Its story begins with the end of the Habsburg monarchy, at the end of the Frist World War, when the country of Czechoslovakia was formed from the Czech and Slovak lands of the Austrian empire. After Second World War, the country come under the dominion of the Soviet Union in 1993, Czechoslovakia dissolved and the two country became independent.

7 Czech republic is one of the most developed state in eastern Europe. Primary sector Wheat, barley, potatoes and sugar beet are the main products of agriculture; the mineral resources are coal, lead and silver. Secondary sector The major industries are metallurgical; the Czech Republic produces motor vehicles (SKODA) and glass. Tertiary sector Exports: machinery, raw materials and chemicals. Imports: transports goods, fuels and raw materials.

8 Martina Navratilova is a ex-tennis player, she was born on 18 October 1956. She has won 59 tests of grand Slam. Now she is the coach of the polish tennis player Agnieszka Radwanska, the sixth in the world.

9 They are the typical dish of the Czech republic.

10 Glass decoration is one of the oldest tradiction of the Czech republic, dating back to the eighth century in Boemia and Slesia.
