Who needs friends, love, and acceptance. Who gives friendship, love, and encouragement. Who fears pain, death, and losing friends. Who would like to see the world, the future, and never-ending joy. Resident of Stigler, Oklahoma Kasbaum You will write a bio-poem for you and your person, so you will need to know this information about them.

2 My Name Pages 3 and 4 What does your name mean? Look up your first and middle names to find out what they mean. Do the meanings of your name fit your personality? How did your parents choose your name? Did they argue about it? What were some other names they considered for you? Did they have a name picked in case you were they opposite sex? Were you named after a relative or ancestor? How do you feel about your name? How do others respond to your name? Have you ever had any problems because of your name? If you could pick out your own name, what would you select? What nicknames do you have? How did your nicknames come about? If you could choose a nickname, what would you want to be called? You will be writing one of these for you and your person. Make sure you ask them these questions!

3 Tell Me All About It! Pages 5 and 6
1. Where did you live when you were my age? 12. What made you happy? 2. What was the name of your middle school? What was your school’s mascot? 13. What made you angry? 14. Did you have a pet? 3. Who were your best friends? 15. What kind of music did you listen to? 4. What did you wear to school? 16. Did you have an allowance? What chores did you have to do? 5. What did you usually eat for dinner? 17. How much time did you spend with your family? 6. What did your parents do to make a living? 18. What kinds of things did your family do together? 7. What did you dream about becoming? 19. What did you do to celebrate your birthday? 8. What clubs, organizations, or sports were you involved in? 20. What advice do you remember your parents telling you? 9. How did you spend your weekends? 21. How did you spend your summers? 10. What were the consequences if you got in trouble? 22. What was the most significant event that happened to you in middle school? 11. What did you wear when you weren’t in school clothes? You will answer these questions for yourself and interview you person to get their answers. Ask yourself the questions in the present tense!

4 The Most Influential Person in My Life
Pages 7 and 8 You will need to write at least 250 words explaining who the most influential person in your life has been. Make sure you include why this person is influential, how you know them (parent, grandparent, teacher, coach, pastor, etc.), and what meaningful things they have shared with you. You will need to interview the person you are working with on this project to find out who the most influential person in their life has been. You will have to write at least a 200 word essay sharing who their most influential person was/has been. You will need to include a picture of this person and/or some kind of decorative element to the page for both essays. In summary: Page 7 is a 200 word essay on the most influential person in the life of your Then and Now person and Page 8 is a 250 word essay on the most influential person in your life.

5 Collage of Likes and Interests
Pages 9 and 10 You will need to create a collage of your person’s likes and interests from when they were your age on page 9 and a collage of your likes and interests on page 10. You must include at least five personal pictures, three quotes or song lyrics, one favorite book, one favorite music album, one favorite movie, and one favorite TV show. You may include other things too, but make sure you have the requirements!

6 Finish the following sentence starters…

Pages 11 and 12 Finish the following sentence starters… I expect… I do… I will try… I won’t ever… I am afraid… I plan… I am trying… I will become… I want… I wish… I dislike… I hope… I should… I feel… I desire… I never… I wonder… I believe… I will always remember… I am sad… I dream that… I pretend… I deeply enjoy… I am often… I feel happiest when… You will need to complete this list for both you and your person. All they need to do is tell you how they would finish the sentence and you will write it down and do the rest!

7 A Year in Review Pages 13 and 14 These do not have to be placed in any particular order. Group them in any way that you want to that makes sense to you. You will need to complete one set of Pop Culture answers for and one set for your person’s 7th grade year. 1. Top movies your 7th grade year. 2.    Top Songs your 7th grade year. 3.     What was popular? a.  Clothing/Shoe brands b.      TV Show(S) c. Actors/Actresses d.     Technology—what was introduced this year? (ex. iPad) 4.     How much were things worth? (Give an average) a.     Gallon of gasoline b.     Gallon of milk c. Movie ticket d. A new music album e. Average yearly household income f. Current minimum wage g. An American made four door car h. A 4-year university education (state school or private school) 5.     Who won major sporting events for this school year? (Examples below) a.     Super Bowl b.     NCAA Football c.      NCAA College Basketball (Men’s and Women’s) d. Masters (golf) e. World Series 6.     Who was President? Top news stories.

8 Family Traditions Pages 15 and 16
You will share important family traditions for both you and your person. Page 15 should describe a family tradition from your adult’s childhood, while page 16 shares a family tradition that you participate in. Traditions may include holiday activities, yearly family vacations, family games, or any other family activity that holds meaning and takes place on a fairly regular basis. Be sure to include pictures, clipart, or some other decorative element.

9 Common Traits and Experiences
Pages 17 and 18 Tell me what you’ve learned by comparing yourself to the adult. List at least five things you have in common (experiences, personality traits, etc.) and five ways that you are different. On page 17 you need to have a picture of your adult. On page 18 you need to have a picture of yourself. Try to find pictures when you and your adult are around the same age. Point out at least three genetic traits (dominant or recessive) you two have in common. This works even if you are not related! 5 Common things on left (page 17) 5 Differences on the right (page 18) 3 Genetic Traits circled or pointed out in your pictures

10 Family Tree Page 19 You will create a family tree with at least three generations (you, your parents, and grandparents).
