5 Causes 3. The “War Hawks” After the Battle of Tippecanoe, Americans discovered the Native Americans had arms from British Canada. The “War Hawks” demanded war. Henry Clay

7 Major Events #2 The War at Sea Americans were greatly outnumbered British blockades kept U.S. ships at port

8 War at Sea America built six frigates (medium sized, fast warships) These ships harassed English merchant shipping and defeated warships from the Royal Navy. These were the first defeats for England’s navy in 100 years.
