3. The Challenge Training federations continue to increase in realism, and complexity, requiring higher fidelity environmental representations to drive realistic and consistent behaviors. No existing capability to provide correlated support products across all four natural environment domains (Atmosphere, Space, Ocean, Terrain). The use of realistic environment representations adds to the expense and complexity of managing large-scale training events. 3

EDCSS addresses the wide-ranging and continually evolving product requirements of M&S applications. EDCSS is the only developed capability to address all domains of environment representation in a relevant, usable, and cost-effective support process. 6
