Hi there, I am Diana, an English teacher from Dalian No. 24 High School, one of the best schools in Dalian. It is the second time I've been in Chongqing. With my previous beautiful experience here in mind, I believe I will have fun this time, too. It is my great honor to be standing here, sharing this lesson with you. Stranger as I am to you, I hope you can be active, cooperative, positive and creative in my class, so that we can enjoy ourselves today.

Task 3 sentence structures--paragraph 1 I still recall the day my mom suggested, “Let’s get you some new clothes.” You can imagine that to a little girl that may mean the world, but to me it meant the universe because we were not financially well off. So I went wide-eyed, wondering what I could select. My mom took me to the department store, saying that I could pick out three dresses, which amazed me. I chose a pink one, a navy blue and a yellow and blue one, which I liked most and to this day I love just thinking about it. I had a best friend Seema, whose family was even worse off financially than ours. We enjoyed playing and studying together. We spent the best days of our childhood laughing at our silly imaginary stories. And I never minded sharing anything with her. I was excited to show her my three new beautiful dresses. She loved them all and was happy for me.

Task 3 sentence structures--paragraph 2 She explained to me, with her eyes slightly moistened, that her father could only afford to buy her clothes for her birthday. I felt her sadness as I looked at her and instantly I said something unexpected. I asked her to pick out one of the dresses for herself. She picked up the best one----the yellow and blue dress. My heart popped out my chest as I was shocked. She picked it up and held it up against her body. She smiled with her eyes lighting up. Only seven-year-old girl as I was, I knew how beautiful her smile was. I could not feel my hurt anymore. I told her it looked lovely against her. Well, when I came back later that day, I explained everything to my mom. She didn’t have the same sentiments as me at first, but finally she nodded and smiled to me understandingly.

Task 4 I always remember Seema’s smile and it reminds me what I learnt that day. Simple dress as it was, it stood for the true meaning of friendship, which is not only receiving but also giving. It means giving warmth to others when they need it most and sharing the happiness with them. By sharing, what we gain is a life full of love.

Why do we read? to learn to appreciate to be inspired

Homework: Finish the other tasks that you haven’t done after class. Appreciation of task 4

Hi there, it is Diana again. Sharing with us a new perspective to look at reading comprehension, she had a really great time. Thank us so much for not only making this 40 minutes of her life an absolute joy, but for granting her the chance to share that joy with us. One- time teacher as she is to us, she hopes from her we have learnt something that can be of help in our language learning.

I always remember Seema's smile and our friendship became more profound. Many days later, Seema gave me a box. I opened it and surprisingly, there was a beautiful dress lying in it. With my eyes slightly moistened, she said," This is my birthday gift from my father and now I give it to you, my best friend." I couldn't do anything but hug her. Today, we are still best friends.

I always remember Seema's smile and whenever I'm faced with similar situations, her smile touches my heart softly. I would rather share happiness with others than only keep it for myself. What I gave her was only a dress, while what she gave me was a lesson valuable for my whole life---to love and share.

I always remember Seema's smile and the feeling that was given by the smile. Seema and I are still best friends and we always share everything with each other. I still keep the other two dresses. Every time I see them, I remember that smile.

I always remember Seema's smile and the meaning of sharing she taught me. Whenever there is someone in trouble, I'd like to give a helping hand and share my love. I know the smile is the best reward.

I always remember Seema's smile and the feeling at that moment. Two years ago, at a small town, I met Seema in a corner. twenty years had passed, but Seema's smile never changed. Behind her, her daught held her hand, dressed in the yellow and blue dress. The color was still bright and the smell was still fresh. Without any word, we embraced each other, with tears running down. Maybe, it is the moment that is called forever.
