Meeting of the Minds Daily Questions: - What were the ideas, thoughts and opinions of my Renaissance Man or Woman? How would he/she communicate with others during the Renaissance? - How did my contributions during the Renaissance lead to the change or shift in the way people are looking at the world?

4 Facebook Communication
You must join or create at least 3 Facebook groups/pages that fit with the ideas or “likes” of your Renaissance Man or Woman – aka if they had a Facebook what groups/pages would they join, create, like, etc. You must write something about your Renaissance Man or Woman’s feelings towards joining the group or the ideas of the group on each of the groups wall. You must write on at least 3 other Renaissance Men or Women’s Facebook wall as though you are your Renaissance Man/Woman communicating with that character during the Renaissance You must respond to at least 2 of the posts written on your wall.

5 Socratic Seminar Socratic Method: Teaching method developed by Greek philosopher Socrates as a form of questioning and discussion and debate between individuals based on asking and answering questions in order to engage critical thinking and new ideas. Socratic Seminar: An open-ended circle discussion centered around a certain idea (event, text) where students drive the conversation by stating opinions, responding to one another and asking questions of one another. Big question: How do the ideas, innovations and creations of the Renaissance reflect and effect the change in the way people are looking at the world and their role in it? Your role: You are acting as your Renaissance Man or Woman, so you should speak from their point of view or perspective. You will spend approximately half the time observing the conversation circle and half the time participating in the conversation circle.

6 Socratic Seminar BIG QUESTION: How do the ideas, innovations and creations of the Renaissance reflect and effect the change in the way people are looking at the world and their role in it? PARTICIPANTS – use the questions you created and knowledge you have about the time period to discuss humanism and the goings-on… OBSERVERS – make note of what is being said and think about who is talking and what they are saying using the observation worksheet…
