2 The bedroom

3  Total –Release foggers: Used to get of fleas, ticks and roaches. Maybe your home becomes infested by fleas ticks and roaches. They work releasing a gas spray that “fills the air” with pesticides. These chemicals are known as insecticides. In order for these products to do their job they need to be used in an enclosed area. Take out toys food, plates cups, silverware or things you cook with. Avoid contact with them because they can cause eye and skin burning or trouble breathing depending on the level of exposure.

4  Moth Balls Moth balls are round and white and look like big marbles. They are used as a repellent. The pesticides in moth balls are chemicals known as naphthalene. These keep insets that eat natural fibers like wool and paper away from clothes or books that maybe stored in your closed, attic or basement.

5 The Living Room

6  Rug o carpet cleaners Products: perchlothyene and naphthalene is a product used to clean spots off of rugs and carpets. Can cause cancer damage your liver dizziness sleepiness, nausea, loss of appetite and disorientation. Always used in well ventilated areas and don’t breath the fumes.

7  Furniture Polish It comes in liquid, paste or aerosol form. It is applied on furniture to get rid of the dust and finger prints and to protect wood from water. Each form contains chemicals such as petroleum distillates and oil of cedar to help its application. These chemicals can cause skin or eye irritation; some of these products may look drinkable and if swallowed they can cause nausea, vomiting a poisoning. In these cases medical help is necessary.

8  Flea Collars Maybe you noticed an extra collar that your dog is wearing. Flea collars are put around the necks of cats and dogs to keep fleas and ticks away. They should not be used on young puppies or kittens. In flea collars the pesticide part are chemicals. These chemicals are known as insecticides.
