14 George Washington is the only President throughout America's history which has been elected unanimously. Though no term limit had been set on the Presidency at this time, Washington served only two terms. Foreign policy was his main presidential concern. By the end of his first presidential term, two main political parties had formed in the United States.

15 John Adams had served two terms of Vice President before being elected into office. He too served two terms, and was known more as a Political Philospher than a Politician. Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and Secretary of State in Washington's Cabinet until he resigned in 1793, all before he was elected President. He followed Washington and Adam's example by serving two presidential terms.
