3.  Up to 30 pages (including title page, abstract, references, tables, and figures). See manuscript types for details.  Longer manuscripts, particularly for critical reviews and extended data-based reports, will not be excluded from review, but the author(s) should be prepared to justify the length of the manuscript if requested

4.  Research Article : Full-length articles presenting important new research results  Research Note : Brief manuscripts presenting pilot, preliminary, and/or exploratory findings.  Review : A comprehensive overview (i.e., systematic review or meta-analysis).  Tutorial : Educational expositions covering recent literature on topics of interest to clinicians and other scholars.  Clinical Focus : Articles of primarily clinical interest but may not have a traditional research format. Case studies, descriptions of clinical programs, and services.  Viewpoint : Scholarly based opinion(s) on an issue of clinical relevance.  World View : Authors write about the profession of speech-language pathology internationally. This format can include writings on issues of clinical interaction in the field by authors from related disciplines.

5. Articles reporting :  Randomized clinical trials should follow the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) CONSORT  Nonrandomized clinical evaluations should follow the Transparency of Reporting Evaluations of Nonrandomized Designs (TREND) TREND  Studies of diagnostic accuracy should meet the Standards for Reporting of Diagnostic Accuracy (STARD) STARD  Authors should find these standards useful as guides in designing and implementing their studies; however, it is recognized that the standards apply directly to the reporting of studies rather than to their implementation.

6.  Authors may submit files as electronic supplemental material at the time of submission.
