2 What does the writer mean when he says that Chaucer “demonstrated the potential of English as a literary language”? Chaucer took literature from other countries for example French poetry Greek classics contemporary Italian tales

3 In what way did the black death contributes to the decline of feudalism
A lot of people died and then moved into towns in search of work which led to a growth of the new middle class.

4 What did John Lydgate mean when he wrote that “… the well is dry”
Other writers can copy his style but they will never be as good as him.

5 Do you think that describing Chaucer as the “father of English literature” is an appropriate description? Explain. Yes combined literary styles from different countries to show that the English language had potential.

Authors portrayed Arthur as a “knight who go through trials and preforms great feats in the service of the lady.” But the traditional tales focused on courage and success in battle.

Stories of adventure gallant love chivalry and heroism. Two examples are Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Le Morte d’ Arthur.
