Delete and Backspace keys remove text from the screen one character at a time. –Backspace removes characters to the left of the insertion point. –Delete removes characters to the right of the insertion point.

Overwrite mode (Word 2003) –When insert key is hit once, existing text will be deleted while new text is entered –Hit insert again to turn it off

Word does not check for usage. –Word will not flag the word sign as misspelled, even though you intended to type sing.
