No. 22/ Appendix 7 Updates proposed by ETC/W (to be updated into App.7) Island sort (II segment) Page 103 A proposal to code islands can be found in Appendix 8. no such Appendix exists, App.8 will be about coding tested on Danube Remark: no such Appendix exists, App.8 will be about coding tested on Danube / The third code segment would identify the island or the mainland where the hydrological feature lie. A proposal for coding of islands is given in Appendix xx. The islands can be identified by the code of the sea they lie within, followed by a sequence number according to the distance from the mainland. In the island coding only islands with surface flow (around 2500 objects) are included. The coding is in hexadecimal digits (00-FF) thus allowing 255 islands to be identified within a Sea. The code 00 is reserved for surface waters on mainland. Will be any other appendices? Q: Will be any other appendices? We suggest to add more details in app.7

Artificial canals belong to specific entity type canal and are coded with an identifier. Identifier is needed if more than one canal are recognized. An additional foreign key establishes the relation between the canal and the water basin.
