3 Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is generally extended to refer to the clock tower as well. The clock tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England. The Houses of Parliament also known as Westminster Palace is the meeting place of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom—the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It lies on the north bank of the River Thames.

4 The red double-decker buses in London have become a national symbol of Britain. Today some double-deckers specialize in short sight-seeing tours for tourists. The classic black cab in London.

5 The London Eye is a 135-metre (443 ft) tall giant wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames. The wheel carries 32 passenger capsules.It rotates at 26 cm per second (about 0.9 km/h ) so that one revolution takes about 30 minutes. The London Eye was formally opened by the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, on 31 December 1999. Since its opening, the Eye has become a major landmark and tourist attraction.

6 Buckingham Palace is a symbol and home of the British monarchy, an art gallery and tourist attraction. The Forecourt of Buckingham Palace is used for Changing of the Guard, a major ceremony. Every year some 50,000 invited guests are entertained at garden parties, receptions, audiences, and banquets.

7 Greenwich is a district of south London. Greenwich is best known for giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian. The photos come from the Royal Observatory.

8 Trafalgar Square is a public space and tourist attraction in central London. At its centre is Nelson's Column, which is guarded by four lion statues. There are some fountains as well, and lots of pigeons.

9 The Tower of London is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078. The castle was used as a prison since at least 1100. The Crown Jewels are currently stored in the Waterloo Barracks at the Tower.

10 The Church of St Peter at Westminster, popularly known as Westminster Abbey, is a large, mainly Gothic church, in the City of Westminster. It is a place of royal weddings, burials and other memorials.

11 Tower Bridge over the River Thames consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways.
