5 Curriculum- Overview  Five mini units for seventh and eighth grade science  Learning activities before, during and after a field trip to the Sanctuary  Teacher Kit that includes everything you need such as lab reports, waders, dip nets, digital cameras and fieldwork reflection.

7 Curriculum- Standards  Grade 7  The Nature of Science and Engineering Standard: Scientific inquiry uses multiple interrelated processes to investigate questions and propose explanations about the natural world.  Life Science Standard: Natural systems include a variety of organisms that interact with one another in several ways.

8 Curriculum- Standards  Grade 8  The Nature of Science and Engineering Standard: Science and engineering operate in the context of society and both influence and are influenced by this context. Standard: Current and emerging technologies have enabled humans to develop and use models to understand and communicate how natural and designed systems work and interact.

9 Curriculum- Standards  Grade 8  Earth and Space Science Standard: Landforms are the result of the combination of constructive and destructive processes. Standard: Water, which covers the majority of the Earth’s surface, circulates through the crust, oceans and atmosphere in what is known as the water cycle.

10 Curriculum- Interactive Word Wall  Let’s participate!  You will receive a note card with a vocabulary word  If your card has word printed in green, please write the definition.  We will create an interactive word wall exploring the relationships of the vocabulary words and examples.
