6 Key skills - Signing-in Please come in and support your child Pen grip – pincer – please adjust Handwriting style – upstrokes Please allow your child to experience as much mark-making as possible – this will help to develop their enjoyment of drawing and writing.

8 Story tree & Book Change Stories – book to loan Lots of talking please Sequencing – talking about what happens in the story and about things that are happening in the pictures. Sound discrimination – everyday sounds in the environment. Listening skills

9 Speaking & Listening Talk! Talk! Talk! Talking is essential for your child to learn how to Read and Write Listen! Listen! Listen! Please listen and respond to the things your child tells you

10 Reading & Homework Book bag – we will give you a free one Children will choose a book each day to share at home You will be charged for damaged books Bring book bag to school everyday 5 minutes of shared reading every night Home link – a short activity to complete every night

12 Illness Sickness – 24hrs Diahorrea – 24 - 48hrs After the last signs of illness

13 Collecting your child It is our legal responsibility to make sure that your child goes home safely. We will not allow your child to leave school with an unknown adult. You must tell us in advance if someone different is collecting your child. Please ring the school (223753) or tell staff at the beginning of the session.

14 What do you need to do today? Put your child’s Birth Certificate and your Proof of Address in the wallets provided Please complete the Preference Form for AM / PM sessions Please complete your pack of Admission forms Do you have any younger children? – Please fill in an enquiry form Remember to collect your child’s Birth Certificate and your Proof of Address before you leave

15 Home Visits All children who are admitted into our School are Home Visited. You will be sent a Home Visit appointment in the post Home Visits will take place the week beginning 14 th July Please inform Miss Storey of any days that are unsuitable
