“Trusting God’s Itinerary” John 21:18-25 Sunday, October 31, 2004 Larry Cantrell

Devotion to God’s Word 2 Peter 3:1-2 (NIV) Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

“Trusting God’s Itinerary” “You must follow me.” Focus on God’s will for your life. Focus on God’s will for your life. You do not need all the answers. You do not need all the answers. There is one Lord. There is one Lord.

“Trusting God’s Itinerary” Peter’s Trust in God’s Itinerary 2 Peter 1:1-2 1. Peter accepted his position and role. 2. He valued the righteousness of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ. 3. He greeted the saints with the blessings of his journey.

Why this Itinerary? To make God’s glory your glory. 1. Do not question God’s will for others? 2. You will need all of God’s strength to complete His will for your life. 3. Continue to follow Jesus.

Lord’s Invitation Philippians 1:20 (NIV) 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
