2. Introduction As you know, England will be hosting the Olympics in 2012. This will be the third time that we’ve hosted it after 1908 and 1948. This is a Brilliant event for our country and we hope it will be a great success. This presentation should teach you about the Olympics soon to be coming up and what’s going to be happening around it. Hope you like it!

3. Map Of The Olympic Park

4. Countries Taking Part In this Olympics there will be approximately 205 nations taking part which is more than ever before. Because there is so many we’ve only named 10 of them. These 10 are Australia, China, USA, Afghanistan, Great Britain, Germany, Brazil, Ethiopia, Jamaica and France.

5. Venues The main venues in the Olympics are: Olympic Stadium, Velodrome, Eton Manor, Athletes Village, Basketball Arena, North Greenwich Arena, BMX Circuit, Aquatics Centre, Water Polo Arena, Hockey Centre, Wembley Park, Handball Arena and Lords Cricket Ground

6. Sports In 2012 there will be 26 sports including football, boxing, Table Tennis, Aquatics and Athletics. There was originally 28 sports but in the finalisation T20 Cricket and Women's Boxing were left out although it is not yet complete confirmation Despite it being finalised.

7. The Orbit Sculpture The Orbit Sculpture is a building outside the stadium. The sculpture is just short of being twice the size of the stadium with a restaurant 2 thirds of the way up. It is also the 2 nd largest sculpture in England about 10m smaller than the London Eye.

8. Park Surroundings and Transport The Olympic Park has a great world wide Transport connection containing A train station linking to Stand stead airport and many other parts of England. The surroundings of the area are shops, restaurants and West Fields Shopping Centre, the largest shopping mall ever to be built in Europe. This will be finished in September this year.

9. Sponsors The main sponsors for the games are going to be and So for the first time ever the sponsors are the only food and drink that are aloud to be brought in the stadium, you are also aloud to bring your own stuff inside.
