Dissolved Oxygen (electronic)- tools used 1.2. 3.4. 1. Tool that detects dissolved oxygen. 2. Calculator used to keep track of dissolved oxygen. 3. Plug it into calculator. 4. Now your ready to test with your tools.

Dissolved Oxygen (manual)- tools used 1.2. 3.4. 1. Manual dissolved oxygen kit used. 2. Stick the tube in with stream water. 3. Let the tube rest there for a few seconds. 4. Compare the tubes with other examples.

Dissolved Oxygen results Stream Area Dissolved Oxygen (Electronic) Riffle9 Run8.5 Pool9 Stream Area Dissolved Oxygen (Manual) Riffle1.1 Run0.9 Pool0.8 Its not surprising the most oxygen was found in the riffle, because that’s where oxygen enters the streams.

Nitrates There were no nitrates found in either the riffle or the pool.

Velocity (electronic)- tools used 1.2. 3. 1. You need to use a graphing calculator. 2. Plug it into the port of the calculator. 3. Now you can use the tool Josh is using while swimming with his boo.

Velocity (manual)- tools used We measured out 10 feet with the tape measure (left), and dropped the noodle material in the water (orange, right). We timed how long it took to travel the 10 feet and that’s how we got the velocity manually.

Autotrophs –Organisms that produce their own food. –An example are plants that get their energy from the sun Heterotrophs -Are organisms that eat other organisms -Some examples are humans, animals, etc.
