1. Hadith (2 min)  Read the translation of 1 hadeeth. Read the simple ones.  In principle the Arabic should be read but because of time limitation, we will not do that. You can do it at your leisure time.  In many cases you don’t need to explain much.

2. Spoken Arabic  Read just one sentence (made up of 2 or 3 words) in every class.  It goes a long way in opening up the thinking and memorization faculties – in a ‘fun’ way.

3. Grammar (5 min)  Should be completely interactive session.  Should be conducted using TPI approach (Total Physcial Interaction). –Concentrate (Use your brain) –Say it (Use your voice) –Show it (Use your hands)  Most important point to remember: This is not just a grammar session. It is actually a system through which you will learn tens or hundreds of words in 5 minutes!

4. Revision of the last Class – just by teacher (2 min)  The teacher will recite the verses covered in the last class (or the verses involving new words only) and give the meanings of new/ difficult/ important words.

5. New Lesson- Tarbiyah points (2 min)  First read just the translation; then talk about dawah / tarbiyah points.  Give simple presentation limiting to around 2 min. Cover (some of the) main/ important points only.  Focus will be on what we can learn from these verses.

5. New Lesson- New Words  Give real as well as false links (for association)  Relate new words with those used in Islamic culture (salah, hajj, siyam, wudu, taharah,…)  Give mother-tongue links, if possible

6. New Lesson (9 min)  Interactive – each one recites on ayah (or part of it). –3 steps for each (Arabic Ayah; Word-for-word meanings; running translation)  Everyone repeats with meanings after teacher’s Arabic words.  Some volunteer students may be asked to read for the remaining time (if left).

6. New Lesson (9 min)  Interactive – each one recites on ayah (or part of it). –3 steps for each (Arabic Ayah; Word-for-word meanings; running translation)  The one sitting next to him does the same thing for the next Ayah (or part of it).  The cycle keeps going (even repeatedly) until the time is over.

7. Reminders  Next Class: Surah …  Recite often the Du’aa: وقُل ربِّ زدني علما  Remember the 7 homework.
