2 Adding Suffixes Learning to recognize prefixes, suffixes, and root words will help you be able to read and spell longer words. We have already talked about some rules for adding suffixes to words that end with magic e.

3 Adding Suffixes love lovable lovely Let's Review.
When a word ends in magic e, you drop the e before adding a suffix that begins with a vowel. You keep the e before a suffix beginning with a consonant. love lovable lovely

11 Friendly Letter Writing letters can be fun and are a good way to stay in touch with someone far away. Friendly letters have five parts: date, greeting, body, closing, and signature.

13 Friendly Letter The first word in the greeting and closing begin with a capital letter and end with a comma. The date, greeting, closing, and signature have their own lines.
