2/20 Period 4 Homework: Complete the Elizabethan Times ECR and web quest packet if not done in class. Objective: Students will write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence. Drill: Take out a computer, log on to GAFE and begin typing your ECR from the packet.

2/21 Homework: Verona Reading and answers. Due 2/25 Shakespeare drama quiz on 2/26. Objective: Students will learn about the structure of Shakespeare’s plays in order to understand the plot of the play. Drill: Review your pink goal sheet. Evaluate your second quarter goal and write a writing goal for third quarter.

Drill 2/22 Homework: Drama Quiz 2/26 Objective: Students will gather background information about the play Romeo and Juliet in order to prepare to read the play. Drill: Complete the anticipation guide.

Drill 2/25 Homework: Quiz on drama 2/26 Objective: Students will review grade level vocabulary in order to prepare to read Romeo and Juliet. Drill: Take out your grade keeper and start filling in the assignments graded to date. Interim grades are on the Family Portal.

Drill 2/26 Homework: Complete Verona Reading if not done in class. Due 2/28 Objective: Students will use grade level vocabulary in order to be prepared to read Shakespeare. Drill: Category B. Five minutes to review for the quiz.

Drill 2/27 Homework: Review terms: Pun and Oxymoron Verona reading due 2/28 Objective: Students will acquire grade level vocabulary in order to read and discuss Shakespeare. Drill: Copy down these definitions in your planner. Pun: use of a word or phrase to suggest two or more meanings at the same time, or the use of two different words or phrases that sound alike. Oxymoron: a figure of speech that combines opposite or contradictory ideas or terms (example sweet sorrow)
