9 9 Nearly two-thirds of all weekday trips are not for work purposes Weekday transit-only trips are evenly split between work and other purpose trips Work is the predominant purpose for all trips between 6 and 10 AM on weekdays Trip Purposes Weekdays, by Mode & Time of Day School purpose trips are made by NYC residents aged 18+ and include students in post secondary schools.

10 10 Trips to Outside of NYC - Reverse Commuters Weekdays, Work Trips, All Modes, 6-10 AM Overall, 94% of weekday trips between 6-10 AM trips stayed within NYC, 6% leave NYC Of the 6%, Queens is the predominant generator Bronx: 19% Brooklyn: 4% Queens: 53% Staten Island: 4% Manhattan: 20%

11 11 Travel Subsidies by Mode Usual Mode to Work, Select Modes More than one third who drove to work receive some type of subsidy For those who drive to work, free parking is the predominant subsidy type About one-third of subway or bus users receive some type of subsidy For those who take subway or bus to work, a pre-tax transportation account is the most popular type of subsidy type
