It’s so tall!!! Why is it leaning???

What is the Leaning Tower of Pisa? The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the bell tower of the cathedral in Pisa, an Italian city. To answer the tourist’s question in the first slide, it wasn’t meant to be built at an angle but the earth that the tower was built on was too soft on one side so the tower started slanting. Fortunately, some people stopped it leaning so hopefully, it won’t crush Pisa!

Some facts and figures The Leaning Tower of Pisa is about 16,000 short tons which is 14,510,000 kilograms. It leans at 3.99 degrees. At its highest point it is 56.67 metres tall. The tower has 2 staircases. One has 294 steps and one has 296 steps. Because the tower was leaning whilst it was being constructed, it was built so that one side was taller than the other. This means that the tower is curved. No-one knows who built the tower!!!

A little story... It is said that Galileo Galilei did an experiment where he dropped two balls of different weights from the Leaning Tower of Pisa to prove his theory that whatever weight the balls are, they will always fall at the same speed. This is considered an apocryphal tale which means that there is no proof that this story really happened but people have claimed that they have seen it or that they have been told by other people who have seen it.

I hope that you have enjoyed my slideshow. THE END!!!

PS..... Don’t forget to spell Pisa correctly, not to be confused with pizza! Do NOT try to straighten the Leaning Tower of Pisa, it is not recommended to any people under the age of 4763(or dogs, for that matter). And...
