2 PLEDGE I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

3 WHAT IS KEY CLUB? Key Club was started in 1925 and is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities. Key Club has approximately 260,000 members in approximately 5,000 clubs. Key Club is represented in over 31 countries.

5 VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSIONS Must attend only once during high school to start earning community service hours. NO VOLUNTEER HOURS COUNT UNTIL YOU ATTEND A SESSION! 8 HOURS SHEETS ALL hours earned through Key Club sponsored or hosted events need to be listed on ONE sheet. You are responsible for keeping track of your hours. At the end of the year we will sign off on your hours and turn them in so that they remain on your record. If you have any questions about hours talk to an officer after the meeting.

13 THE ELIMINATE PROJECT Delivering the cure for maternal and neonatal tetanus. Kills one baby every nine minutes Nearly 60,000 newborn children die every year To eliminate MNT from the Earth, 129 million mothers and their future babies need to be immunized The Eliminate project will reach the poorest, most neglected mothers and babies with additional lifesaving health care. The end of this one disease means the beginning of better health for so many families.

21 CLUB PICTURES January 14, 2015 You have to be a paid member of Key Club to be in the picture We don’t know the time yet but you will be excused from class to take the picture We won’t have a club meeting between now and these pictures so we will be sending out Remind 101’s about wearing your shirts. Please please please help out by letting your parents know and helping feed the kids in our community.

24 RELAY FOR LIFE April 25-26 12:00pm – 1:00am No team entry fees American Cancer Society We will be arranging a guest speaker (January 29 meeting) Theme: Relay Around the World What country do we want to do? Committee Head: Sam Valencia Fundraising Individuals who raise $100 receive a shirt on the day of the event

25 INDEPENDENT PROJECTS At every meeting we will have a list of organizations at which you can volunteer with independently, even if the club as a whole is not sponsoring the event. We do this so that you can ensure to reach your desired number of volunteer hours at a schedule that is convenient for you! New Horizons Power Volleyball Academy

26 POWER VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY Need volunteers to help run concessions, the store, and help with cleanup. Shifts will be about 4 hours long and they will need volunteers potentially on a weekly basis, usually Saturdays from 8am – 10pm. For more information contact Jessica at (937)218-4560

27 NEW HORIZONS New Horizons Service Dogs, Inc. is a non-profit organization that partners trained dogs with the disabled, mostly in the area of wheelchair and mobility assistance.
