2 “All But My Life” Gerda was able to survive her imprisonment by Nazis by the memories of her family and her happy childhood home.

3 “All But My Life” One reason Gerda survived the Death March was because she obeyed her dad and wore ski boots on the day she was taken away.

4 “All But My Life” Gerda got her life back when she married the American soldier that liberated her from the Nazis. He was a German Jew whose parents had sent him to America.
