2. I’m going to argue about how footballers are overpaid. I truly believe that footballers wages should be lowered. My first reason is the pay to hours worked ratio. It’s hard to comprehend but some football players earn a quarter of a million pounds a week! The average person would be lucky to earn that much in their lifetime! Obviously it goes without saying that they shouldn’t earn as much as they do, for such little work! Clearly they don’t deserve that much money a week because on average, football teams only play one game a week.

3. Lionel Messi In 2009, footballs best player ; Lionel Messi earned 33million that year! I personally believe they don’t deserve that however people who are doing good, helping others and serving our country such as the emergency services or the armed forces should be given a raise. They are helping to save lifes and putting their own lifes on the line and not just kicking a blown up piece of leather between two wooden posts. As you all know I love my football and I don’t have a problem with the game it’s self, it’s just the enormous salaries they get paid. I earn 33million a year!

Country ambassadors Further more Olympic athletes who compete for our country and the pride of taking part and the opportunity of receiving a possible medal don’t get a wage but get money through sponsorship, which helps with their expenses. Consequently when football players are representing their country (which is really important) they get their normal wage plus a share of the sponsorship money and a payment from the FA. The amount they receive from the FA depends on how far they progress in the competition. This undoubtedly means they’re not doing it for their country but more importantly, for the money. Now I don’t think that makes them a very good role model does it?
