3. CPU CPU - is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program to perform the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of the system. The CPU the brain of the computer and tells every part of the computer what to do. And CPU means Central Processing Unit.

4. Video Card Video Card - is an expansion card which generates output images to a display. A video card generates, all of the pictures on your computer and all of the pictures on websites.

5. RAM RAM – is a form of computer data storage. RAM takes the form of integrated circuit’s that allow stored data to be accessed in any order with a worst case performance of constant time.RAM means Random Access Memory.

6. Hard Drive Hard Drive - is a non – volatile, random access digital magnetic data storage device. The Hard Drive features rotating rigid platters on a motor-driven spindle within a protective enclosure.

7. CD-ROM CD-ROM – is a disk drive in a computer that reads what’s on the disk and lets you play it on the computer screen. CD-ROMs are popularly used to distribute computer software including video games and multi-media software.

8. USB Port USB Port – is a device that expands a single USB port into several so that there are more ports available to connect devices to a host system. The USB Port is for downloading, and charging external devices. It is also for plugging up extra mouse’s and keyboards while you are on a computer that has a mouse or keyboard that you don’t like.

9. PCI Card PCI Card - A circuit board that plugs into the computer's PCI bus and contains the control electronics for a peripheral device. A PCI card is for use with SCSI devices.

10. Motherboard A Motherboard is the central printed circuit board in many modern computers and holds many of the crucial components of the computer. A mother board is the brain of the computer and has all of the main components of a computer on it.

11. Power Source A power source is the component on the computer that gives it, its battery power and power. The power source gives the power to the computer to let it come on.

12. Time Line 1 - 15 On September of 1958 – Jack St. Clair Kilby, of Texas Instruments, Combined Transistors, Resistors, and Capacitors in a single monolithic integrated circuit.

13. Time Line 2 - 15 In 1969 Bill Gates and Paul Allen of Lakeside Programming Group get contract to report PDP-10 software bugs in exchange for computer time.

14. Time Line 3 - 15 In 1970 Floppy disk is announced by IBM, an 8-inch floppy plastic disk.

15. Time Line 4 - 15 In 1970 Daisywheel printer is announced by IBM.

16. Time Line 5 - 15 In 1972 C programming language developed by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs.

17. TimeLine 6 - 15 In 1972 Intel introduces the 8080 microprocessor

18. TimeLine 7 - 15 On November 1972 – Atari is founded by Nolan Bushnell and ships Pong, the first video game.

21. TimeLine 10 - 15  1973 IBM develops hard disk drive. Called the Winchester named after the rifle. It used two 30 Mb platters.

22. TimeLine 11 - 15  April 1974 First 4Kbit dRam chip becomes available.

23. TimeLine 12 - 15  May 1974 Mark 8, the first home computer kit, was introduced.

24. TimeLine 13 - 15  1974 Ted Nelson invents Hypertext.

25. TimeLine 14 - 15  January 1975 IBM introduces the first laser printer.

26. TimeLine 15 - 15  February 1975 Zilog announces the Z- 80 cpu.
