1 BASIC COLOR SCHEMES INTRO TO COLOR THEORY
Color is an integral element of our world, not just in the natural environment but also in the man-made architectural environment. Color always played a role in the human evolutionary process. The environment and its colors are perceived, and the brain processes and judges what it perceives on an objective and subjective basis. Psychological influence, communication, information, and effects on the psyche are aspects of our perceptual judgment processes. Hence, the goals of color design in an architectural space are not relegated to decoration alone.

2 COLORS COLORS AFFECT PEOPLE PHYSICALLY MENTALLY
COLORS CAN SET THE MOOD THE MOST POWERFUL DESIGN ELEMENT YOU CAN INCORPORATE INTO ARCHITECTURE Colour is an expressive element in architectural design and can be used to emphasize the  character of the building and create harmony , and unity ,  or  it can be deliberately contrasting to enliven or emphasize .It may affect the way in which people respond to the surroundings and can enhance a mood of calm or elation .  Colour is truly magical ! Colour evokes emotion , stimulates the senses and creates atmosphere . Colour will transform your surroundings , alter perceptions ,  and set moods . Imagine the tantalizing challenge of making colour a central decorative element .

9 COLOR WHEEL DID YOU KNOW THAT SIR ISSAC NEWTON DESIGNED THE FIRST CIRCULAR COLOR WHEEL IN 1666? WHY IS THE COLOR WHEEL SET UP IN THIS PARTICULAR ORDER?

10 PRIMARY COLORS THEY RYB COLOR MODEL RED YELLOW BLUE

11 SECONDARY COLORS A COMBO OF TWO ADJACENT PRIMARY COLORS TO CREATE A NEW ONE. RED+YELLOW=ORANGE RED + BLUE = VIOLET BLUE + YELLOW = GREEN

12 TERTIARY COLORS CREATED BY MIXING PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLORS
RED-VIOLET BLUE-VIOLET BLUE-GREEN YELLOW-GREEN YELLOW-ORANGE RED-ORANGE

13 WARM vs. COOL COLORS WARM COLORS COOL COLORS VIVID AND ENERGETIC
THEY ADVANCE IN SPACECOOL COLORS COOL COLORS IMPRESSION OF CALM AND SOOTHING

14 COMPLIMENTARY COLOR SCHEME
COLORS OPPOSITE OF EACH OTHER ON THE COLOR WHEEL CAN BE HIGH CONTRAST, BUT VIBRANT. MUST BE MANAGED WELL DO NOT OVER USE

15 ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME
USES COLORS THAT ARE NEXT TO EACH OTHER ON THE COLOR WHEEL. FOUND IN NATURE PLEASING TO THE EYE ONE COLOR SHOULD DOMINATE, THE SECOND SUPPORTS, THE THIRD IS AN ACCENT

16 TRIADIC COLOR SCHEME COLORS EVENLY SPACED AROUND THE WHEEL ARE VIBRANT
ONE COLOR SHOULD DOMINATE, THE OTHER TWO WILL ACCENT

17 SPLIT COMPLEMENTARY COLOR SCHEME
VARIATION OF THE COMPLEMENTARY COLOR SCHEME TOW COLORS ADJACENT TO ITS COMPLEMENT LESS TENSE THAN THE COMPLEMENARY GOOD CHOICE FOR BEGINNERS

18 TETRADIC COLOR SCHEME USES A RECTANGULAR COLOR SCHEME
VERY RICH IN COLOR TWO COMPLEMENTARY PAIRS LET ONE COLOR BE DOMINATE

19 SQUARE COLOR SCHEME SIMILAR TO THE RECTANGULE, BUT FOUR COLORS ARE EVENLY SPACED LET ONE COLOR DOMINATE WARM AND COOL COLORS NEED TO BE BALANCED
