3 Employee Safety Responsibilities Make safety a priority when performing the functions of your job. Attend all workplace safety trainings to ensure all YMCA programs are operating in a safe manner. Follow and enforce all safety rules, policies and procedures and report any unsafe conditions or practices to your immediate supervisor. Report all accidents and/or personal injuries to your immediate supervisor. Where an emergency exists call 911. Only operate equipment you have been authorized and trained to operate safely. Always inspect the equipment you are authorized to use. Report defects to your superviso. Do not use tools or equipment that is defective. Wear personal protective equipment as required. Read and understand all warning tags and signs. Wear appropriate clothing suitable for the type of work you are performing and conforms to the YMCA dress code policy. Good conduct is expected at all times. Horseplay or fooling around will not be tolerated. Working while impaired by alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.

4 Hazard Communications Chemical exposure may cause or contribute to many serious health effects. The Y has identified and labeled hazardous chemicals in the workplace. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available at every branch. Personal protective equipment is provided to staff who work in positions that may place them at risk.

5 Hazard Communications Additional information and training on hazardous chemicals in your work area are provided: At the time of initial assignment Whenever a new physical or health threat you have not previously been trained about is introduced into the work area Whenever a new hazardous chemical is introduced into the work area Whenever an employee has to perform a new or non- routine task Whenever an accident or near miss indicates that additional training is necessary
